Guest House on the Maine Coast

This guest house-cum-boathouse was built in 2002 to provide a temporary summer home for the family while the main house was under construction. The main house beside it was completed in 2005.

The owner got his degree in marine architecture and plans his eventual full-time return to Maine as also a return to boatbuilding. The structure was inspired by traditional Maine barns. It houses a shop in the main space, a sail loft above, and guest quarters on its water side.

Landscaping is by Bruce Riddell, of Bar Harbor, Maine.
