Kitchen in Northwest DC
The owners of this 1930’s English cottage in northwest Washington DC love to cook, entertain frequently, and wanted a kitchen that could be part of the party.
The existing kitchen was dark, utilitarian and outdated. An L-shaped plan creates a cooking area and a more cozy family sitting area. Cabinets were designed to be less institutional and more like furniture. A long bank of metal casement windows over a continuous stone countertop opens the room to light and views of the garden below.
