David Peabody

David Peabody, AIA, LEED

David Peabody spent his first ten years of private practice in his hometown of Natchez, Mississippi, doing primarily historic preservation work on commercial and institutional buildings throughout Mississippi and Louisiana. In 1990 he moved to Alexandria, Virginia, focusing on residential design. He chose this specialization for two reasons: a desire to get closer to the craft of architecture and detailing, and a desire to work directly for the people who would use his buildings. He has designed over 75 homes and additions in the Washington DC area.

Laura Campbell

Laura Campbell, AIA, Green Advantage Certified

After receiving her master’s degree in architecture, Laura Campbell practiced for five years with firms in Philadelphia and Alabama working on a variety of projects: museums, dormitories, churches, restaurants and houses. She began teaching at Mississippi State University’s School of Architecture in 1998, and in 2000 she moved to Alexandria, Virginia and joined Peabody Architects. There, she has worked on a range of residential projects, from small additions to new homes.

Izumi Kitajima

Izumi Kitajima

Izumi Kitajima, originally from Japan, came to the United States in 1996. She received her master’s degree in architecture from the University of Kansas in 2003. There, she participated in Studio 804, where students designed and built a 1200 square foot house. Through that experience, she came to believe that only houses built with a high level of design excellence, sustainability and craftsmanship can really come to life for their owners. Since joining Peabody Architects after graduation, Izumi has focused on three-dimensional modeling and building detailing.
