Laura Campbell, AIA, Green Advantage Certified
After receiving her master’s degree in architecture, Laura practiced for five years with firms in Philadelphia and Alabama working on a variety of projects: museums, dormitories, churches, restaurants and houses. She began teaching at Mississippi State University’s School of Architecture in 1998, and in 2000 she moved to Alexandria, Virginia and joined Peabody Architects. Here she has worked on a range of residential projects, from small additions to new homes.
She has immersed herself in the building science of energy efficient homes, and focuses on incorporating best green building practices into her projects. Her goal in the coming year is to design a net-zero home, one that produces all of the energy it consumes.
Laura values collaboration. By working closely with owners, she believes an architect can help create or remake a home that is cherished, used and loved, and that leaves the planet intact for the next generations.
