We are seeking architectural professionals with a commitment to excellence in design and energy performance. We are a collaborative firm focused exclusively on Zero Energy Buildings, Carbon reduction, and ultra-healthy living environments. We use Passive House principles as a foundation for sound building science and durable building envelopes. Our projects are forward-looking to the next generation of energy production for a distributed grid. Our work is primarily in single family and multifamily housing although the reach is on the community scale.

Current openings:
Architectural Staff Level I
Our firm and staff manage numerous projects at one time which are in various phases of development, at any given time. In this position, you would assist on projects from concept design through Construction Administration, including participation in client meetings and site visits. All projects involve energy modelling and analysis. In addition to supporting design projects, you may also contribute to presentations for marketing and community outreach. This position offers the opportunity for on-the-job training in skills necessary to deliver excellent design at the highest levels of building energy performance. We will offer you as much responsibility as you can take on and pay commensurately.
Candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- A degree in architecture from an NAAB-accredited Program
- 3-5 years architectural firm experience, preferably in residential design
- Commitment to high-performance building design
- Construction Document experience
- Professional Revit experience, particularly in Construction Document production
- Presentation skills in Photoshop, SketchUp and other 3-D modeling software
- WUFI and/or METr energy simulation software experience is strongly encouraged
Architect Level II
You would be expected to be a Project Manager and would have the responsibility for projects from concept design through construction administration. You will be responsible for all aspects of projects and be expected to manage the scope and timeline independently, anticipating next steps. You will also contribute to the energy modelling analysis for firm projects. In addition to managing design projects, you may also lead presentations for marketing and community outreach. This position offers the opportunity for growth toward the management end within a design firm in skills necessary to deliver excellent design at the highest levels of energy performance.
- A degree in architecture from an NAAB-accredited Program, Professional degrees preferred
- Certification as licensed professional
- 6+ years architectural firm experience, preferably in residential design
- Commitment to high-performance building design
- Experience managing projects from concept to completion
- Construction Document experience in highly detailed residential and light commercial building systems
- Knowledge of building and energy codes and consultant coordination experience
- Deep Construction Administration experience
- Professional Revit experience, particularly in Construction Document production
- Presentation skills in Photoshop, SketchUp and other 3-D modeling software
- WUFI and/or METr energy simulation software experience is strongly encouraged
Building Energy Modeling Professional
Our team is committed to Zero Energy Buildings for New Construction and improving the performance of existing buildings. We are looking for new members to accelerate the cause. You will be responsible for producing energy models for firm projects. Assisting the team in understanding the main principles of building energy performance and advising on project decisions based on results and knowledge of building energy modeling. (Contract work is possible, but we welcome individuals to permanent roles within the firm.)
Candidates should meet these qualifications:
- A degree in architecture from an NAAB-accredited Program
- Proficiency in WUFI and/or METr Passive software
- Demonstrations of a solid understanding of Passive House principles
- Commitment to high-performance building design
- Professional experience with Revit for detailing light frame construction
- CPHC training is required
